Saint David day is the National day of Wales, and it is celebrated every 1
March every year. Saint David died in the year 569 on that day, but is very little known about him nowadays He is as well the Patron of Wales. The date was
declared a national day of celebration
within Wales in the 18th century.
However, Saint David´s day is not a national holiday in the United Kingdom.
What do they do on that day? They commemorate Saint David, especially in
Cardiff. It is custom to wear a daffodil or a leek on that day, while girls wear a national custom.
